Your Job

Position: AP Lead Accountant

We are seeking an experienced AP Lead Accountant to take ownership of the Accounts Payable process, ensuring its effectiveness, accuracy, and compliance with internal and external requirements. While this role does not include direct personnel management, it focuses on process ownership, task modeling, and delegation of responsibilities to designated team members.

The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong organizational and analytical skills, capable of driving continuous improvement in AP operations.

 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Define and model tasks within the AP workflow, establishing clear expectations and guidelines.
  • Delegate and track responsibilities among team members, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to streamline processes and address AP-related issues.
  • Monitor compliance with internal controls, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Analyze AP data and metrics to identify areas for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for escalations and complex AP queries.

Your Profile

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Accounts Payable or a similar finance role.
  • Solid understanding of AP processes, financial controls, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to model tasks, set clear expectations, and delegate responsibilities effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and tools, particularly SAP.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Fluency in English and German (both written and spoken).
