Your role and main tasks

This is a temporary position for a period of one year, with the possibility of extension.
 
  • You are responsible for the strategic and operational management of the Kids Shoes category, including both branded assortment and Private Label Kids Shoes, across private shopping campaigns and shop-related campaign formats.
  • You take full category ownership and independently manage the assortment, supplier portfolio, campaign planning and commercial performance of Kids Shoes at limango.
  • You are responsible for budget planning, category development, procurement strategies and the allocation of logistics capacities for your area of responsibility.
  • A key part of your role is to further develop the Kids Shoes category by identifying new brand opportunities, strengthening existing supplier partnerships and ensuring a commercially attractive and customer-relevant assortment.
  • In addition to managing branded Kids Shoes suppliers, you are responsible for the further development of the Private Label Kids Shoes assortment. This includes supplier coordination, product selection, pricing, margin steering, quality alignment and close cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Negotiating strong deals with suppliers is one of your main responsibilities. This includes regular condition negotiations, preparation of annual supplier talks and the continuous optimization of purchase prices, margins, payment terms and delivery conditions.
  • You plan and steer international campaigns for private shopping and shop-related formats, always looking for the best offers on the market and ensuring the right balance between commercial potential, customer relevance and operational feasibility.
  • You closely monitor the performance of your category and derive concrete actions to improve sales, margins, stock quality, availability and campaign performance.
  • You take ownership of category-related projects to increase performance, improve processes and support the further development of the buying organization.
  • You work in close contact with Strategy Management, Shop Management, Marketing, Campaign Management, Quality Management, Logistics and other relevant departments.
  • You act as the central contact person for all commercial topics related to Kids Shoes, including Private Label Kids Shoes, and are able to make decisions independently within your area of responsibility. 
 

You will need

  • Experience with product development, sourcing processes, quality requirements or international supplier management for the Private Label Kids Shoes part of the role is a must.
  • You have at least 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in shoes, kids’ products, fashion, private label or e-commerce.
  • You have a strong understanding of assortment building, supplier management, pricing, margins and campaign-driven retail business.
  • Ideally, you already know relevant brands and suppliers in the Kids Shoes sector and/or have experience in developing Private Label footwear assortments.
  • You have strong negotiation skills and are confident in dealing with international suppliers and brand partners.
  • You communicate clearly and professionally in English. Additional language skills are an advantage.
  • You have experience in budget planning, performance analysis and commercial steering of a category.
  • You are able to structure complex topics, present them clearly and successfully implement projects across different departments.

  • You are hands-on, pragmatic and able to manage both strategic topics and operational details.
  • You enjoy working cross-functionally and are able to motivate other departments to support your category goals.
  • You are able to work under time pressure and keep a clear overview in a fast-moving campaign business.
  • You combine strong commercial thinking with a good sense for products, customers and market trends in the Kids Shoes segment.
