Team Lead Buying Home & Living - Maternity Cover (m/f/d)

Your role and main tasks
This is a temporary position for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
- You are responsible for the strategic and operational steering of the Home & Living area, including the categories Home & Living, Home Textiles, Furniture and Technical Goods.
- You lead an international team consisting of five buyers and one assistants, located across the limango group in Germany, Poland, and France. You are responsible for both functional and disciplinary leadership.
- You motivate and develop your team, improve team structures and ensure a clear allocation of responsibilities.
- You conduct annual appraisals and support the individual development of your employees.
- You are responsible for the budget planning of your categories, the strategic alignment of the product assortment and the continuous optimization of procurement processes.
- Together with your team, you contribute to the further development of your categories by sourcing new brands, expanding existing international key accounts and managing strategically important brand partners.
- You keep the overview of supplier negotiations within your area. This includes continuous condition negotiations, the preparation of annual supplier talks together with your team and ensuring commercially attractive deals for limango.
- You support the evaluation of potential Private Label opportunities within your categories, assessing whether selected assortment areas could be suitable for future Private Label development from a commercial, operational and customer perspective.
- You monitor the performance of your categories and derive concrete actions together with your team to improve sales, margins, assortment quality and campaign performance.
- You take on category-related projects to increase performance, improve processes and support the further development of the buying organization.
- You are in constant contact with Category Management, Marketing, Campaign Management, Business Analytics, Logistics and other relevant interfaces.
You will need
- You have at least 5 years of purchasing or sales experience in e-commerce, ideally in Home & Living or related categories, and have already gained relevant experience in leading a team.
- Ideally, you already have contacts and business relationships in the Home & Living sector and understand the specific customer requirements for this assortment.
- You have a strong commercial understanding of assortment building, supplier management, pricing, margins and campaign-driven retail business.
- Previous experience in Private Label, product development or international sourcing would be a strong advantage, especially with regard to possible future category development opportunities.
- You have strong communication skills, also in English, and strong negotiation skills: you communicate clearly and unambiguously and do not lose sight of your goal during negotiations.
- You know how to lead and motivate a team and are able to inspire employees, create structure and assert yourself both internally and externally.
- You are highly analytical and have a strong affinity for numbers. You are able to evaluate commercial potential, performance data and supplier offers in a structured way.
- You have already gained experience in taking on, structuring, presenting and successfully implementing projects.
- You work independently, take ownership of your area and are able to make decisions confidently.
- You have an entrepreneurial mindset and a holistic approach: you always focus on offering the customer the right assortment, at the right price and at the right time.
